Each October Marlborough celebrates the Marlborough Heritage Festival. A Main Street downtown event, the day starts with the Main Street Mile Race and the festival includes entertainment, arts, crafts, and gift vendors, food court, children’s activities, truck fair, and our famous ChowderFest.
The 2008 Heritage Festival - the 13th Annual - was held Sunday, October 5, 2008. George Whapham, recently retired Director of the Marlborough Labor Day Parade, was honored as the 2008 Marlborough Heritage Hero for his work in preserving Marlborough's traditions and promoting Marlborough's heritage. A resident of Marlborough for over 40 years, Mr. Whapham served as director of the parade for over 20 years.
